Dal neolitico all'età del ferro in Canavese

P.Ramella

From the neolitic to iron age in «Canavese» - The Autor gives an edited synthesis of the archaeological discoveries in Canavese. «Canavese» is an interesting area from the archaeological point of view, due to the international road which has crossed the region since the Roman period. Hunters of the late Palaeolithic are also supposed to have lived in this area.
Among the items displayed in the «Museo del Canavese» in Ivrea, it is possible to admire three pieces of international interest:
- 2 sword moulds (1100 B.C.) (discovered in Canavese)
- a Roman funeral stele illustrating the groma, the instrument used by the mensor of Eporedia.
