Materiali della cultura della Moarda dal territorio di Montevago
Yuri Marano

Finding belonging to the «Moarda» culture from Montevago (Agrigento) - This work presents the result of surface researches carried out in the area of Montevago (Agrigento) by «Coop. Nuova Archeologia» in 1988.
All potsherds, flint and bone fragments here presented came from a small area (few square meters), and it is possible that they represent a hut-dump. Pottery is characterized by engraved decoration, particularly reticulum, that allow us to relate it to the «Moarda» culture, a typical horizon between the end of Copper Age and the beginning of Bronze Age in Sicily, linked to the Bell Beaker’s culture.
The lithic manufacts include flint and obsidian artifacts, but even more interesting is the presence of a little object made from (bird?) bone with a hole, which could be a whistle.
