Considerazioni sulla ricostruzione grafica degli edifici antichi
Andrea Perin
Contribution to the
structural reconstruction of ancient buildings -
These peculiar drawings should be considered as a result of a detailed
investigation on the real appearance of excavated remains on buildings.
Although these reconstructions are only theoretical, they are strictly
related to the «architecture» (above all to the «anastilosi») and to the
«experimental archaeology».
These are useful, in different ways, to both archaeologists and amateurs:
the archaeologists are helped in the knowledge of the ancient architecture
and stimulated to consider different solutions to their problems; the
amateurs in the understanding of the remains.
The author suggests that the final drawings have to be the result of the
comparison between the data of the excavation, the examples of existing
ancient architecture, the static analysis (in order to know the cubic
volume of the building), the literary and iconographic analysis
(historical sources, paintings, sculptures, etc.). In any case, the result
which has been obtained has to be considered as «a logic appearance» of
the building and not «the real appearance», because it is not possible to
exclude any project error or personal solution.
Graphic choice: perspective drawings of amateurs; technical drawings for
archaeologists.
