The probable discovery of an 18th century kiln in San Daniele del Friuli - In 1984, during excavations carried out in the centre of San Daniele del Friuli, numerous fragments of pottery (of the type «ingobbiata dipinta sotto vetrina») were found. Parts of these pieces showed evidence of melting caused by excessive heat. This discovery, combined with the findings of other waste material and some treppiedi separators, several years later, led us to the conclusion that there might be an 18th century kiln in the area. This kiln would add to the numerous other kilns, the existence of which is well documented by toponymy and has been supported over the years by word-of-mouth and archaeological findings.
